APPLICATION OF SYNTHETIC INFLOW TURBULENCE TO ENVIRONMENTAL FLOWS

An improvement to the turbulent spot method for inflow turbulence synthesis is introduced. The improvement allows to generate arbitrarily anisotropic turbulence which fulfills the continuity constraint always. Thus artificial pressure noise, which usually pesters synthetic turbulence generation, is strongly reduced. Applications of the method to atmospheric surface layer flows are presented.
