A NEW INTEGRAL VISCOELASTIC SOLVER IN OPENFOAM

In this work we present the implementation and verification of a new solver in the open source computational library OpenFOAM, which is able to cope with viscoelastic fluids following integral constitutive models. Aiming a stable numerical computations, when dealing with complex constutive models, an approach adapted from the classic both sides diffusion method was also adopted. The implemented solver is verified with three case studies: the transient Couette flow for the UCM fluid and the flow through a 4:1 contraction, both for UCM and K-BKZ fluids.
