Dr. Hrvoje Jasak, co-author of OpenFOAM with Mr. Henry Weller, has graduated Mechanical Engineering at the University of Zagreb, Croatia (1992) and completed his PhD in prof. Gosman's research group at Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London (1996), working on the FVM numerics, turbulence modelling, free surface flows and adaptive error control algorithms. He has been working in CFD research and software development with CD-adapco (1996-2000) and Fluent Inc. (2000-), pioneering the use of object orientation, generic programming and C++ in commercial CFD. Between 2000 and 2004 he was responsible for FOAM software development as the Technical Director at Nabla Ltd. Currently, dr. Jasak is a lecturer at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FSB), University of Zagreb, Croatia a visiting professor at the Universidad Technica Federico Santa Maria, Valparaiso Chile and runs a UK-based consultancy company Wikki Ltd. As the original developer of FOAM and OpenFOAM since 1993, his interests cover numerous areas, including FVM and FEM numerics, mesh generation and adaptation, simulations of free surface flows, non-linear stress analysis and fluid-solid interaction, turbulence modelling and LES. |
