The city of Exeter is located in the county of Devon in the South-West of England and is well connected by road (M5 junctions 29, 30) and rail (direct rail services to both London Paddington, 2.5 hrs, and London Waterloo, 3.5 hrs). The two main stations are Exeter St Davids and Exeter Central; both are fairly close to the university campus (Streatham), about 10 minutes walk (taxis are available from both).
Exeter Airport is a relatively small airport but does have services to a number of European destinations. A regular bus service (56/56A/56B) connects with central Exeter, taking about 15 minutes for the journey.
The nearest major airport is Bristol Airport. A bus service connects to Bristol Temple Meads train station from which frequent trains are available to Exeter (about 1 hr); or there are direct coach services to Exeter from the airport.
To get to Exeter from the major airports of Heathrow or Gatwick; there are express services from these airports to London, and then proceed by train to Exeter. Heathrow is served by the Heathrow Express which takes 15 minutes to London Paddington, which has a direct service to Exeter (see above). There are also rail-air bus links to Reading and to Woking with rail access to Exeter. From Gatwick Airport there are direct services to London Victoria (take the tube on to Paddington or Waterloo) and Clapham Junction (Waterloo trains to Exeter usually stop here). There are also direct coach services from Heathrow to Exeter provided by National Express.
